| DJ Tyrell |

Born and raised in Canada in typical white trash surroundings, Tyrrell's career path was already assured by the age of 5 when isolation would inspire him to play every instrument he could get his hands on. Picking up the guitar aged 9 he quickly developed into an 80’s jazz-fusion prodigy (frighteningly) and became the youngest guitarist to be accepted into Toronto's Humber College for Jazz (Canada's Berkeley Music College equivalent). Thankfully he dropped out after a year.
Moving to London at the end of the decade, Tyrrell quickly picked up work as an engineer and programmer in Berwick Street Studios. Spending most of the early 90’s rarely seeing daylight, he worked with artists and producers at the cutting edge of the dance music explosion such as Stereo MC's, Youth, Blue Pearl, The Orb, Art Of Noise and Definition Of Sound. Recording and mixing PM Dawn’s first two highly successful albums led to him being managed primarily as a producer / remixer and work with Talkin’ Loud artists like Marxman, Urban Species and Incognito soon followed. If that wasn’t enough, Tyrrell then played guitar on the Mercury Music Prize winning Roni Size & Reprazent album 'New Forms'.
Needing to create his own music again, Tyrrell formed Interfearance with Talkin' Loud's Paul Martin in 1998 and hit the UK club scene with a flurry of singles on their Electronically Enhanced label and an extremely well received debut album for Pete Tong’s FFRR label. Unusually for dance music artists of the time they chose to perform live rather than DJ and gigs at Creamfields and the opening night of Fabric Live won them a strong reputation. They recorded their second LP "Take That Train" for San Francisco label Ubiquity and supported it with DJ tours of the US (NY, SF, LA) and eastern Europe (Germany, Austria, Hungary). More remixes followed for Sneaker Pimps, CJ Bolland, INXS, Hybrid and Akasha.
Tyrrell's appetite for more raw, funky house spawned solo releases in the summer of 2000 with ‘You Are My Sun’ and ‘You're Gone With The Wind’. By 2002 the superb ‘Alright, Alright’ came out on Ministry Of Sound’s F3 Recordings and included a remix by Static Revenger. Current / future releases include Tyrrell & Super Creep ‘Dope Quarter’ (no. 1 in Chris Fortier’s Balance Promote Chart) and ‘Equalized’ (winter 2003/2004), Hooked’s ‘Step Right Up’ (Elementary Music, summer 2003) and a new Interfearence single and album (autumn/winter 2003).

DJ Jaffar |
You hear a lot of hype about DJs, but in some cases it’s justly deserved. Jafar has spent the last 22 years devoted to music, playing the piano from the age of 4 as well as drums, percussion, guitar and even viola. Turning his hand to DJing and production in 1993 was a logical next step after years of musical experimentation, and his blend of Latin and Jazz fused House and Garage is fast making him a name to watch.
Aside from a respected residency at UKDJ’s own Backroom Sessions at Café de Paris and the regular warm up slot in the VIP at Southport Weekender, Jafar is a regular at Deeper @ Hanover Grande, ‘Most Excellent’ parties, The Elbow Room, Soulsonic @ Notting Hill Arts Club and Notting Hill Carnival. His superb 3 deck mixing skills have taken him out to Submission in Ibiza, Rainbow Parade in Tokyo, Cornwall’s Megadog festival and The Love Parade in Newcastle where he’s played alongside such names as Carl Cox, Masters at Work, Stuart Patterson, Dave Angel, Warren Clarke and Gilles Peterson.
Jafar’s production career is taking off as fast as his Djing, and in 2002 he won the ‘Lynx White Label Award’ for new producers with his 6th release, which has recently been licensed by Universal. All this and he still finds time to run to highly successful shows on Pulseradio and CNSoho Live. His talent and enthusiasm has already won him strong support from Muzik Magazine and IDJ, and it won’t be long before he finds himself firmly at the top of every bill.
| Matt Harris |
Matt Harris started DJing in 1994 at Portsmouth University as part of Cain & Able. Playing alongside DJ's such as the late Tony De Vit and Danny Rampling, he quickly carved out his own style and strong reputation on the south coast as a hard house DJ at the hugely successful ‘Spacebaby’ night, as well as a number of guest slots, free parties and local radio appearances.
Matt was drawn to London where he picked up the residency playing at Elite Model parties at Café De Paris. Working with several London promoters he soon had some strong residencies to his name including The Saint Bar, Pop, Iceni and Purple with regular guest slots at The Mayfair Club, Legends, Leisure Lounge, Embargo, CC Club, Elysium, Tokyo Jo’s, Embassy and Browns to. His main style and passion is funky, chunky and soulful house, but he can be heard regularly spinning all forms of house from soulful laid back grooves to full on tough funky house, Breaks and tribal beats.
Most recently Matt guested at Pacha for the massively popular ‘Dusted’ night, and followed this up with a slot at Prince’s after concert party @ Click.
Matt is currently resident at Elysium every Thursday, Pangaea every Friday and ‘The Supperclub’ @ Cafe de Paris. He plays regularly at album, film and other high profile launches as well as the hugely successful and recent recommended night in Time Out, New Years Eve 2003 where he played the headline set. He is also working on his own productions in the studio as well as presenting his own net radio show on London Live and Direct every Friday 12pm - 2pm. Look out for a new residency on Saturdays @ Rouge.
| Collin Patterson |

While on holiday in Tenerife in 1987 at the tender age of 16, Collin saw Des Mitchell cutting up funk tunes and decided to try it for himself. After playing at friends parties back in London he returned to Tenerife the following year ready to turn the island upside down with his blend of ambient, funk, hip hop, garage and latino wizardry (funnily enough, the same year a lesser known Spanish island claimed to have invented the ‘Balearic’ sound…). Colin stayed for 5 years. Whilst mainly resident at Paradise Lost, Bananas and the infamous Cactus Park warehouse parties, he also played at Ku in Santa Cruz, El Mundo in Madrid, a 3 city tour of Italy (Rome, Milan and Pavia) and numerous parties in Lanzarote.
After many years of coaxing by the owners/promoters of Havana in Middlesborough (now the Arena) Collin was finally persuaded to take up a residency that was to last in 1995. His style continued to grow and developed into an individual mix of House, Garage and latino vibes. Whilst in his second year at Arena he also made his debut as a producer on Hubba Hubba (‘Santuri’) to rave reviews by both DJ Mag and Mixmag, and followed this with another strong release on Tumblin Records (‘Joint Effort’). A slot on Radio 1’s Essential Selection swiftly followed and Collin was soon appearing regularly at Back to Basics, Ministry of Sound, Hardwick Hall and Ku in Ibiza.
After 3 years in Middlesborough Collin decided to resist the move to hard house that was favoured by many of his peers, so a change of club and surroundings moved him back to London and a return to his root influences with soulful funk and garage. Since then Collin has developed strong residencies and guest slots at ‘Southport Weekender’, ‘Barrio’ @ Cargo, ‘Sundaysonic’ @ Notting Hill Arts Club, ‘Lift’ @ Herbal and ‘Need 2 Know’ plus European appearances at Ambasadi Gavoili in Slovenia, ‘Colors de Tenerife’ and ‘To The Manor Born’ in Co. Durham. Most recently Collin is back in the studio with Chicane’s Leo Estlob working on his next production material.
