Vocalist and guitarist GUSTAVO grew up surrounded by music in his home city of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He studied at the 'Groove' School of Music for seven years, and soon after formed his first band 'Rebento' (Luiz Roberto, bass; Eduardo Marques, drums) playing MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira). After over six years of playing regularly on the thriving Sao Paulo music scene, Gustavo made the move to Europe, and has become a leading figure on the London Brazilian music scene for over four years. With his band, Gustavo plays a mixture of Bossa nova, Brazilian 70's funk, Chorinho, Afox\'8e and Samba, just released his first album "JAZZ POPULAR BRASILEIRA"(Candid Records) and performed at London venues including Dingwalls, National Theatre(foyer), 100 Club, Pizza Express(Dean St.), The Blue Jay, 606 Club, Bar Havana, Royal Festival Hall(Foyer), Guanabara Bar and Cargo. |
