Rebecca
Hooper performs as a solo harpist for numerous weddings and corperate
functions throughout the year. She started playing the harp at the age
of 12. Within six months she had already won the Harp Solo for the National
Youth Eisteddfod. She went on to win numerous competitions, the Royal
National Eisteddfod on more than one occasion and local and national
music competitions.
Rebecca
furthered her musical studies at the Royal College of Music, London,
where she studied under Ieuan Jones. Whilst at college, she played the
harp for all of the college orchestras, particularly enjoying the 20th
Century Ensemble, and the Opera Orchestra. She became principal harpist
of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales, the Jersey Symphony Orchestra,
and is currently principal harpist with the British Police Symphony
Orchestra and the Sidcup Symphony Orchestra.
Rebecca
performs with the British Police Symphony Orchestra to sell out performances
of the Last night of the Proms concert at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham
every year. Rebecca has performed at numerous Gala events for the Princes
Trust, in the Presence of HRH Prince Charles, and numerous celebrities
Tom Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Ruth Madoc, to name but a few. Rebecca enjoys
charity work, and has performed at numerous fund raising events, for
Leukaemia Research, Cancer Research, the Princes Jubilee Trust, Headway,
Unicef and numerous Police Federation conferences.
Rebecca
also performs annually for the Story of Christmas charity event at St
George's Hanover square, in the presence of many top celebrities. Last
years performance was played on Classic FM.
Television
appearances include the performance of the Mozart Flute and Harp concerto
in Paris for Designed by Emmanuel. She also performs at the Albert Hall
every year for the BBC festival of remembrance.
