Steve has fitted a lot of things into the last fifteen years including over 40 albums as a performer (frontman and harmonica) and as a session musician, he has played with acts from Larry Adler to Screaming Lord Sutch and has recently recorded albums with the Prague Philharmonic.

Steve achieved a degree from APU, Cambridge in music specializing in harmonica and apart from playing with a variety of bands has gone on to compose and play music for film, television and radio.

 

His dynamic and versatile playing incorporates both traditional and avant-Garde techniques to an inspired level. He is currently singing and playing with a variety of bands that include Irish Folk Rock originators Loudest Whisper (ex Donovan), Hip hop/d&b industrialist B BY B and appeared at the 2003 Cambridge Folk Festival with international folk guitar sensation Eric Roche  (guitarist magazine), He has toured around the world with many bands and worked independently as a producer and session player, he is currently working with six different acts

Steve is also working on production for a new self composed album, he gigs both in the UK and abroad and lectures on music and audio in the citys of Cambridge and Hitchin, UK

Musical influences include the range of popular music’s from the last 100 years from early blues and jazz up through soul and funk into today’s array of dance, pop and rock music.

Steve has appeared on BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and has played on countless international TV stations as part of his tours as well as two separate Reuters stories based on his study and playing of the harmonica .

Radio appearances include BBC R1, BBC R2, BBC R4 and he performed a live satellite broadcast in Scotland for the football in Rome, Italy on Radio 5 Live. Over the past twenty years I have been playing as a professional musician performing in Europe and overseas.  

I have been lucky enough to complete my studies with several talented drummers in Italy, such as Marvin Smith Boogaloo (jazz player much in demand among the New York’s jazz musicians during the seventies), Ed Uribe (docent at the “Berkley College of Music”), Roberto Zappulla  and Ettore Fioravanti (Italian National Television Big Band Orchestra).To improve my drumming I have also attended seminars with some of the most influential drummers on the international music circuit: Billy Cobham, Peter Erskine, Elvin Jones, Simon Philips, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dennis Chambers and Dave Weckl.

I am a permanent resident in UK and since 1996 I have been available for teaching and world-wide work as a full time band member and/or session musician.

 

Artists whom I have been performed with:

 

2003: Became Art Director as well as the drummer of the ultimate and innovative London based Latin Brazilian Production “Tropicalia” performing all over the UK. (www.tropicalia.co.uk)

 

2000: Became band leader of the South American Production “YES!!! BRASIL”. We performed in four Continents. The show has been booked by celebrities such as spice Girl Mel B and Princess Caroline of Monaco. We also have performed live for BBC1 (Comic Relief with Graham Norton, 16th March 01) and for channel4 (SO Graham Norton).

 

1997-present: Joined the rock band "Human Oddities" (www.humanoddities.co.uk). The band has been playing for almost six years throughout the country. In October 2000 we have released a single titled “BLAST OFF” and it was nominated as "Single of the month" by “MakingMusic” magazine (January 2001). In October 2003 We have finished to record our first album. We are currently trying to get it published.

 

1996-1997: I have been playing as a session drummer with various English Indie bands in the most renowned clubs in London such as the Monarch, HQ, The Orange, Camden Falcon, Dublin Castle, The Garage, Water Rats, Dingwalls, Bull and Gate and Sound Republic. Elsewhere in England I have played at the “Boardwalk” in Sheffield, “the Dolly” in Oxford, “White Horse” in Wycombe and more.

 

1996: I moved to London. I started to play with two Blues Bands called “Mutton Jeff” and “The Rubbernecks” gigging in some of the most famous capital’s Blues venues.

 

1993-1994: Band leader of the Rock band “Dalfango”. The band played about 60 gigs in Italy and Germany, as well as taking part in the “Nuremberg International Festival” representing the Italian rock scene. The band earned very good reviews. We also recorded a CD titled FATU' (Carpe Diem Label).

 

1989-1992: Being part of the “ Rosi' s Orchestra”. We Performed about 300 gigs in Italy, France and Montecarlo covering English and American most famous pop and evergreen songs.

 

1987-1988: I Gained my experience playing in the “Giancarlo Gazzani” and “Nino Culasso” Big Bands. Toured in Italy and France.

 

1984-1986: Member of the Rock band “Confusion”. Recorded a CD titled  “CONFUSION TIME” (Manticore Label).

 

1982-1983: My first experience in a Jazz-funk band, the ”Michele Jannaccone Octet”.

 

1981: I Worked with the Italian singer Nicola Festa with whom I recorded an album titled “SOLO” (Torcida Label). Being part of his band for the Italian promotional tour. 

 

In addition, I featured as a guest artist on many different records. I did about thirty sessions for various artists, on eight of which I featured on the whole CD.

 

1992-Present: I implemented my own teaching schedule. In February 2003 I have finished to write a book covering many different aspects of co-ordination. I am currently trying to get it published.
