The RJO is a UK based 13-piece swing orchestra. The fresh, youthful and exciting orchestra is made up of the finest players and searches far and wide for the best singing talent. Playing swing classics from the very early years such as Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Glenn Miller through to Sinatra, Tony Bennett and featuring the ‘New Era of Swing’ with Michael Buble & Robbie Williams numbers, the RJO appeal to all ages. Setting the RJO apart from other bands is that all the arrangements are ‘in-house’.

Not only is the orchestra filled with fine players but also great arrangers and composers. They can take a collection of Buddy Holly hits and turn them into a big band swing classic! Indeed, this is something that the RJO have done on many recent engagements. A client can name a favourite song ( as diverse as a Level 42 pop hit or Henry Mancini’s Moon River ) and the arranging staff will create a unique chart to play at the event. That extra special touch!

This versatility allows the client to tailor make the evening. A Rat Pack style show, an evening of 1940's big band dance tunes, a Michael Buble tribute show... the RJO will create all the client wants. In recent months the orchestra have been commissioned to write a show starring 1980’s pop star Limahl (Kajagoogoo lead singer). The brief was to create big band arrangements of 80's hits such as Culture Club's 'Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?', Huey Lewis & the News' 'Power Of Love' as well as Limahl's own hits and the Kajagoogoo classic 'Too Shy'.

The RJO’s main goal when booked for a private function is to deliver an evening of pure class. Swing music evokes images of glamour and sophistication. Put on your finest ball gowns, send your dinner suit to the dry cleaners and soak up the wonderful sound of swing!
