The
Emnica Duo is a professional clarinet & piano combination. They
burst onto the London music scene in 2003, with an outstanding debut
concert at The Regents Hall. Since then, they have given successful
recitals at many London venues including St Martin-in-the-Fields, The
Colourhouse Theatre, St James’s, Piccadilly, St Anne’s Music
Society, St Bride’s Music Society, and many others. They have
been selected against exceptional musical talent to take part in the
Landor Records competition and have a variety of forthcoming concerts
including the Royal Albert Hall as part of their new lunchtime concert
series called Ignite. They have also played for functions and events
where small interludes of recital repertoire is required or alternatively
as a background music duo.
Undeniably, their commitment has proven
their performances to be individual and charismatic. They are often
applauded for the rapport they share together and deliver to the audience.
Whether you wish to book the Duo for recital work or to provide background
music for functions or events, weddings or parties, their professionalism
allows them to accommodate to every situation.
Nottingham born Stuart Eminson is a Royal
Academy of Music graduate, having studied with Angela Malsbury of the
London Mozart Players, Nicholas Rodwell of The Royal Opera House Covent
Garden Orchestra and Richard Addison of The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
During his studies Stuart won several plaudits, including the John Solomon
prize for solo recital, the Geoffrey Hawkes prize for clarinet and the
Nicholas Blake prize for wind chamber music. He was also given the chance
to play for and learn from the best of international clarinet talent
including masterclasses with Michael Collins, Gervase de Peyer, James
Campbell, Andrew Marriner and Karl Leister.
Stuart is currently pursuing his freelance
career and has performed in many parts of the country as well as overseas
in orchestras, as part of chamber music ensembles and as a solo recitalist.
He is co-founder of the AURA Wind Quartet, and has been a member of
the orchestra for the touring production of Cameron Makintosh’s
Oliver! which took him around the United Kingdom and went on to Canada.
His interests in the clarinet world are
not only confined to classical music – involvement in Jazz and
other genres have led him to performances, amongst others, at The Jazz
Café, The Kentish Town Forum and Bar Rhumba, alongside recordings
and albums for Soul Jazz Records and Electric M.E.L.T.
Claire Capps combines her work as a freelance
pianist and accompanist with her teaching engagements. Her performance
work involves accompanying recitalists and singers for concerts, examinations
and auditions, playing in chamber groups, and providing background music
for special events and functions.
Although a strong solo player, it was while
studying for a music degree at the University Of Birmingham that Claire
discovered her love of accompanying and working with other musicians.
This prompted Claire to explore this interest further by taking a postgraduate
diploma in accompaniment at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Claire’s performances have taken
her to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Liverpool University, Southwark
Cathedral and St James, Piccadilly. Outside the UK she has travelled
to Siena to work as a repetiteur and has played on Swan Hellenic cruises
with Terzina (a clarinet trio) in South America, Italy, Turkey and Greece.
She was also a resident cocktail pianist at The Basil Street Hotel,
Knightsbridge for several years.
